SEVERIT Compactor to Make Its Debut for Romanian Farmers
The SEVERIT compactor from SMS CZ delivers efficient, fast, and precise seedbed preparation. Thanks to its unique design, which allows the use of up to eight working sections, it can level the soil surface, break clods, and create a uniform seedbed in a single pass. This not only saves time and fuel costs but also minimizes soil compaction and supports long-term soil health. Romanian visitors will have the opportunity to see its advantages firsthand at the AgriPlanta – RomAgroTec exhibition, taking place from May 23 to 25. The machine will be on display at stand E140 and will also take part in live demonstrations during the show.
SEVERIT is suitable both for traditional post-ploughing seedbed preparation and for shallow processing technologies up to a depth of 15 cm. The model SEVERIT 500 with a 5-meter working width will be presented at Romania’s largest agricultural show. This version features a two-part frame that folds hydraulically into a transport position and can be operated with tractors from 160 HP. Robust Design and User-Friendly Operation
SEVERIT is made from high-strength materials that ensure long service life and durability even in demanding conditions, including heavy or wet soils. Hydraulic circuits simplify operation—enabling easy folding for transport and unfolding into working position. The premium configuration also allows operators to conveniently adjust the stiffness of the flexible levelling bar and control the working depth of the shares and chisels from the tractor cabin.
The compactor operates at speeds of up to 15 km/h, increasing efficiency and reducing working time. High operating speeds also improve soil crumbling, leading to a more homogeneous structure—crucial for uniform crop emergence.
The standard working section includes two rows of tines, and optionally, the machine can be equipped with three rows of spring tines, ideal for lighter soils. Additional working tools include front and rear levelling bars (rigid or flexible), levelling sections, support rollers (such as tubular, crosskill or double crosskill rollers), and tractor track looseners.
The axle is located behind the working sections, ensuring stability and effective weight distribution—especially beneficial when using the third roller.
Tailored to Every Farmer’s Needs
As is characteristic of SMS CZ, SEVERIT offers a wide range of accessories, allowing each farmer to tailor the machine to their specific requirements. Optional features include various types of tines, levelling bars, and rollers—including ductile iron crosskill rollers with excellent crumbling and compacting capabilities. Hydraulic depth adjustment is also available.
To ensure reliable and high-quality work, plant residues should be incorporated into the soil to a minimum depth of 5 cm and should be finely chopped. The wide spacing between working sections prevents clogging, allowing the SEVERIT to be used even in fields with plant residues or under moist conditions.

AgriPlanta-RomAgroTec has been held since 2011 and has become the region’s most important agricultural event. More than 250 exhibitors from several countries take part each year, attracting over 20,000 visitors.
